About Martin Lacasse
Martin G. Lacasse, is an accomplished fine artist, who owns and operates Lacasse Art, a mural design and production studio, based in the Windsor-Essex region of Ontario, Canada.
Lacasse is a firm believer in the power of creativity, inspiration, and its capacity to produce happy people. As one persists at creating, self confidence, and courage develop as a result. Working in the creative arts field, has allowed him the opportunity to "accomplish both objectives", he says.
Martin has been producing custom art for the residential, commercial, and corporate markets of the Windsor-Essex region of Ontario for the past 25 years. Lacasse has amassed an extensive, and diverse portfolio of satisfied and returning clients. From fine art murals, to private commissions for homes and businesses, Lacasse has continued to challenge his creative boundaries with every new client.
"My love for art began at a very tender age" Lacasse says. Being blessed with nurturing parents, who were alert to early signs of creative potential, Lacasse credits their insight, along with alert school teachers in being his first inspirations to further develop his creativity. They even encouraged him by purchasing a "paint by number" oil set, and those many crayola coloring books. Being one of 6 children, the Lacasse household was a vibrant place for a creative mind!
Since completing high school,in 1986, Martin began working as a freelance portrait artist, illustrator, and graphic designer, slowly building up a clientele of satisfied customers."Working directly in the field" he notes, can teach you so much about getting a pulse on what people are interested in."
It wasn't until 1997, that Lacasse began to explore more carefully the untapped marketability of murals for homes and businesses in his area. Inspired by popular Magazines like Florida Design, and Architectural Digest, and seeing other European artists who were experiencing success in this field, it became evident that quality murals for these markets was viable. The goal, then was to focus on business owners who were willing to collaborate with Martin in creating uncompromising art for the community through their establishments.
Things began to happen with one restaurant after another. This led to more commissions, some news media recognition, radio interviews, along with an additional captive audience of future clients attending the restaurants. And the rest is history.
All the while, Martin has continued to create his own masterpieces, as well as to do commission work through his established network of client contacts.
At this time, Martin is happy to make available to the public, prints of paintings from his Private Collection, along with previous commissioned works. "I thoroughly enjoy creating art that inspires a more reflective side of life". You will notice this, in Lacasse's choice of colors, which radiate softly, thus creating a soothing, dream-like and relaxing effect for his viewers.
The following series presented on this site will be collections for you to enjoy and purchase as open editions, in their various theme and categories.
